Mario Grynszpan is a Full Professor at the Institute of History of the Fluminense Federal University (UFF), where he teaches in the Graduate Program in History. He holds both a BA and a teaching degree in History from UFF, as well as an MA and a PhD in Social Anthropology from the National Museum of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He completed postdoctoral research at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris.

Before joining UFF, he served as a researcher and Full Professor at the Center for Research and Documentation of Contemporary Brazilian History (CPDOC/FGV-RJ), where he coordinated the Graduate Program in History, Politics, and Cultural Heritage. He also chaired the Department of History at UFF from 2019 to 2021.

He has published books, book chapters, and articles in peer-reviewed journals, and regularly presents his research at academic conferences in Brazil and abroad. He has served as Maître de Conférences Invité at the Centre de Recherches sur le Brésil Contemporain (EHESS) and as a visiting lecturer for the Florestan Fernandes Chair at El Colegio de México.

His research focuses on Rural Sociology, the Social History of Elites, and Theory, Methodology, and Historiography.
