This project seeks to examine the formation and expansion of the Asian Peoples’ Anti-Communist League (APACL) in the early Cold War. The study of this anti-communist, transnational, and postcolonial organization allows us to observe the agency of local actors in shaping the international system of the period, incorporating actors and narratives from the Global South’s right-wing politics that are generally underestimated in Cold War studies.
